The third annual American Glass Guild Conference will be held Aug1-3, 2008. Tours of stained glass installations in the Philadelphia area will take place on August 4 and 5. Thank you to our Tour Committee: Jean Farnsworth, Ken Leap and Michael Mezalick. The full schedule will be published on our website in early January. Some of the presentations and discussions include: Estimating for stained glass, The lack of trained personnel and what can be done about it, Acid etching techniques and safety, Conservation at Lincoln Cathedral, Geoff Wallace will give a presentation on the use of lime mortar, Art Femenella and Kathy Jordan will speak about an interesting project on which they collaborated, Barbara Krueger, Michael Mezalick and E. Scott Taylor will speak about Belcher mosaic windows, David Wilde on French stained glass, Rowan LeCompte on his work, and Nicola Gordon Bowe will be making two presentations (Harry Clarke and Wilhelmina Geddes). Several artists who will speak about their work are Ellen Mandalbaum, Ellen Miret, Nancy Nicholson and Ken Leap. There will be much, much more, so please check our website in January. Meanwhile, "Save the Date".

One space has opened up for Debora Coombs' pre-conference glasspainting workshop on Thursday evening, July 31st from 6-9pm. Anyone interested should register without delay. There are also still openings in these workshops:  Judith Schaechter, Art Femenella and Roberto Rosa, and Ken Leap.

Do I need a card to take Ken Leaps class or will classroom be wireless? Trying to get to 2:00 class tomorow also

Did you download the GlassEye 30-day trial software onto your computer as Ken suggests in the workshop description? If so, then you won't need internet access for the class. However, I do believe that the entire hotel is wireless (free).
