I just found this elsewhere

Forum for the Conservation and Restoration of Stained-Glass Windows

New York, 1-3 June 2009

First announcement and call for papers

The next Forum for the Conservation and Restoration of Stained-Glass Windows will take place in New York from 1 - 3 June 2009.  The Forum is being held under the auspices of the American Corpus Vitrearum and the International Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum for the Conservation of Stained Glass.

The three day Forum will consist of two full days of oral presentations and poster sessions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's largest and finest art museums.  Evening receptions will be held at The Cloisters and in the newly renovated Engelhard Courtyard, which will allow participants to view some of the Museum's extensive holdings of European and American stained glass.  The third day of the conference will be spent viewing stained glass in situ in five Manhattan churches in the company of local experts.  The day and the conference will end with a reception at the National Arts Club, a landmarked building which also contains significant installations of stained glass.

The conference is open to all interested stained glass professionals, including conservators, conservation scientists, architects, cultural heritage managers, art historians, students, etc.  The venue is intended to provide an unprecedented opportunity for experts from Europe and The United States to meet and share their expertise and experience.

The theme of the Forum will be "The Art of Collaboration: Stained Glass Conservation in the Twenty-First Century".  Papers should present current topics in stained glass conservation, with special consideration given to those which highlight the collaborative process.  Possible topics include the transfer of technology across disciplines or national boundaries in the manufacture of stained glass; interdisciplinary approaches to the art historical and technical study of stained glass; discussions of the impact of the client on conservation decisions; etc.  Papers may be offered in English, French or German and will be published in the original language.  Simultaneous translation will be provided at the conference.

Proposals for presentations should include the author(s)'s name, affiliation, mailing address, email address, a summary (maximum 500 words) of the proposed presentation, and an indication of whether the proposal would be presented orally (maximum 20 minutes) or as a poster.  Proposals should be sent to Lisa Pilosi (lisa.pilosi@...) no later than 9 May 2008.  Authors will be notified in late June.  Full texts will be due in late September and preprints will be distributed at the conference.  Accepted authors are expected to attend the conference.

Details about the program, registration and accommodation will follow.  Recipients of this message are kindly requested to share it with interested colleagues.

Thank you

Drew

On a related topic: this year's AIC conference will be held in Denver next month.   You can go online to download the registration brochure.

AIC 36th Annual Meeting
April 21 –24, 2008
Denver, Colorado

The theme for AIC’s 2008 Annual Meeting is Creative Collaborations. The theme is an intentionally broad, meant to highlight successful projects completed by conservators partnering with professionals in other fields, such as scientists, engineers, artists, owners/shareholders, or industrial representatives. The general session and specialty groups will explore this theme, with possible topics including post-Katrina and other disaster recovery activities; protection, recovery, or treatment of cultural property in conflict zones; collaborations between the fields of art and environmental conservation; and many more.

A program to include a variety of hands-on workshops, tours, lectures, posters, exhibit sessions, receptions, and much more is currently being planned. Information will be posted as it becomes available, so please check back often.

Register for the meeting today!
