This is a little late in getting out but noteworthy none the less. In late April, 7 stained glass painters including myself attended a 5 day Medieval Stained Glass Workshop @ Glencairn Museum by Kenneth Leap.

It was a fantastic workshop studying Gothic stained glass window design and the Gothic painting style. The cathedral and museum are a wealth of information and also have one of the largest collections of Gothic stained glass in the United States. Ken has done a lot of research on the Gothic period and it's windows. He lead several discussions on different aspects of gothic stained glass as well as led some of the tours at the museum. He also led the workshop on painting glass samples using the same techniques and painting styles from that period. This was a great opportunity, one that I won't forget!

Anybody interested in Gothic stained glass should consider Ken's workshop next year.

I met Kenneth Leap, a nice guy, last Monday 7th July at the Artworkers Guild, 6 Queens Square, London, at the launch of the 40cms exhibition being held by the British Society of Master Glass Painters at the Cochrane Theatre from now until December 2008. There are 73 different panels on show.

The exhibition is open to the public, held in the cafe area, just walk in and view the panels close up.  Debbie Coombs another USA resident also has a panel on show, there is a wide variety of techniques, some traditional others modern.

Although Kenneth Leap gave you a talk about Medieval and Gothic glass, his contribution to the exhibition was a modern photographic portrait of Christ done with airbrush.
