Maria,
I printed out the PDF file registration form and the AGG Non-members early registration fee says $245.00 and on the web site it shows $345.00 before you get too many early applications sent in.

Hi have a scheduling Question.
I don't seem to understand what times some of the discussion/classes are provided. When you say that there are three classes before noon, are they back to back or do they overlap. If you could provide estimates of times for the classes it would make it more clear about what classes we would have to choose from and what classes are back to back.
Thanks,
Tim

Tim, On Thursday and Friday there is only one presentation at a time, and they don't overlap, so you will be able to attend everything that is offered on those days. On Saturday there are two choices approximately each hour, in different rooms, but none overlap. Here are the choices (see complete descriptions on our website):
1. Cliff Oster or Old World Stone
2. Acid Etching or "To Relead or Not to Relead, That is the Question"
3. Glass in Synagogues or Workplace Safety
4. Cash Flow Analysis or Marie Foucault's presentation
LUNCH
5. Don Burt (new work) or Lighting stained glass
6. Documentation panel (re: restoration) or " Understanding Personality Style Differences: Communicating more Effectively with Clients and Co-workers"
Everyone will see the Member Slide Show
Then in the evening you choose between the Roundtable discussion on New Work or the Roundtable discussion about Repair and Restoration.

| Hello from Cincinnati. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to best get from Green Airport to the Hilton? There are some recommended shuttles on the airport website, but I thought I'd ask, in case there was some clever alternatives. Thankee. Last edited on Fri Jun 29th, 2007 02:02 am by Don Burt

| It's not very far from the airport to the hotel, so probably any of the shuttles would do.

| Hi all, I just had eye surgery for a detached retina and macular, so I'm out of commission for a while. I'll be posting information about the shuttle on the website and here as we get closer to conference date. Since the Hilton Hotel is new, the shuttle is in the process of setting up a stop there. As of today the closest stop is the Westin Hotel. They expect to stop at Hilton by the time of our conference. Check back the week before conference.

For those of you who are flying into Green Airport in Providence, you could either take a taxi to hotel or take the airport shuttle for $12. Since the Hilton is new, the Transportation Board has not yet "approved" their application for the shuttle to stop at the Hilton, so if you do take the shuttle, you want to get off at the Westin Hotel which is located less than 1/2 mile from the Hilton. It is very close to walk and it is a good opportunity to see a little bit of Providence.
Once you are at the Westin:
1. Go across the street towards the Rhode Island Convention Center.
2. Go around the corner into Sabin Street. Please note the RICC will be
on your right side.
3. Keep walking straight on Sabin Street. Please note after passing the
RICC, you will be walking by the Dunkin Donuts Center which is going
through renovations.
4. After the DD Center, you will see the Hilton Providence. The walk
will take you less than five minutes.
If you prefer not to walk, you can call the Hilton at 401-831-3900,
identify yourself as a member of American Glass Guild and ask if the Hilton shuttle is
available. If so, the Hilton shuttle will drive to the Westin to
pick you up. The Hilton shuttle is based on availability, but it's worth a try.

To all who attended our Providence Conference: Thank you!! I thought I'd share the comments made by the Hilton manager in response to my letter of appreciation for all their hard work in helping to make our Conference such a success:
" I have to tell you, the success of your group reflects the character of
all your attendees. I heard from everyone at this hotel "AGG people are
really nice" and my personal interaction with members of your group were
pleasant and funny. "
Thank you everyone for all your support and kindness throughout the Conference.
Fondly,
Maria

It was truly amazing to be in the same room with some of stained glass's legends such as Rowan LeCompte, Robert Pinart, Patrick Reyntiens, Jacques Duval, Sylvia Nicolas, Mel Greenland, Nick Parrendo and CZ Lawrence. But to have the opportunity to sit down and talk to them one on one, is something I will never forget.
They were all humble, selfless and so willing to talk to any of us at the AGG conference.
Incredible!! A warm thank you to all.
No doubt that the amazing line up of such excellent speakers, lectures and workshops was the basis for such a great conference, however, let's not forget the people who put it together and made it possible, the hard work, of the directors and volunteers.
Thank you Mary Higgins, Vic Rothman, Barbara Krueger, Art Femenella, Maria Serpentino, Kathy Jordan, Ardra Hartz, Cindy Williams and Patrick Baldoni. Without your vision, excitement, and countless hours of volunteer work this dream would have never been realized. And Michael Mezalick, thank you for your time and effort with the Bulletin Board and all our technical issues.
Looking forward to seeing all of you next year.

I second those sentiments! The organizers are to be strongly commended. And, the presenters were just amazing. This particular conference may have been a once in a lifetime opportunity. Well done!
I'd also like to say that every Hilton employee I encountered, from those who stood to gain (a tip?) from being nice to those who didn't (the guy in the elevator who suggested a place to eat) were all especially pleasant. I give the hotel high marks for all of them coming across so well to me (the public, y'know?)
Now, if they can just get the construction next door taken care of and solve the $7 beer problem......

Hello all,
I just wanted to write a quick note to let everyone know that I really enjoyed the conference. I know the note is late but my " day job" was calling first. I totally agree with what Don Burt said along with everyone else who found the conference amazing. As a beginner with little or no exposure to the art of stained glass I was made to feel at home. Being allowed to feel this way made it easy for me to learn so much. To be in the same room as the masters was truly inspiring and invigorating. Its hard to put into words what the conference meant to me but it was amazing. I am grateful to all the wonderful people that I met. Thanks to all who contributed and who made the conference possible. I hope to see everyone next year!
