The H-Net stained glass list serve received an inquiry from the Archivist of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (Greece)which was built in 1888 (designed by William R. Ware who also designed
Harvard's Memorial Hall). There are a couple of windows, and early on one was thought to be from the Tiffany Studios. Since then, they found the name of W.J. McPherson mentioned in an official history book along with the Belcher Glass Mosaic Company.
Notice the flower petals are chipped which must mean that
glass is thicker......the photo doesn't look like any Belcher Mosaic windows I have seen, but there is always an exception.
Does this style look familiar to anyone? Thanks.
I don't really have a better pic, I'm sorry. They were flat to the back side and chipped into nice little domes/cones that stuck out about 3/4 from the surface on the front. The words to better explain escape me.
