Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the second
circular for the upcoming GLASSAC-08 congress,
which will be held at the Aula Magna of Valencia
University Historic Building, Valencia, March 5-7, 2008.
The aim of this event is to create a focus
on the applications of glass science in art and
conservation. We hope to enhance communication
among scientists belonging to different fields
with artist and conservators. The congress will
give an opportunity to work together and discuss
the latest results in a variety of topics
including: Bronze Age glass • Hellenistic glass •
Islamic glass • Roman glass • Mould-blown glass •
Glass decoration and enamel • Medieval stained
glass window • Façon-de-Venise glass • Glass in
the 18th and 19th century • Contemporary glass •
Glass technology production • Raw materials •
Dating and provenance of glass • Restoration and
conservation of glass • Glass corrosion and
weathering • Archaeometry of glass •........................
Further information about the meeting is

attend the congress, and have not yet registered,
please, visit the site as soon as possible and
send us the registration form. Note there is an
early registration fee if you register and pay by
January 15th. The conference registration fee
includes all open sessions, conference sponsored
materials, refreshment breaks, lunch, conference
proceedings, and the social dinner.
In order to make a preliminary selection we
highly suggest you submit, as soon as possible, a
short abstract to the Scientific Secretary.
Remember that NEW deadline for submission is
November 30th. The preliminary program for plenary talks is also
available.
As we announced in the first circular, an
interesting glass exhibition: THE LANGUAGE OF THE
MATTER. Carlos Muñoz de Pablos: glassworking
painter, will take place during the conference.
