1. The weather's good and the wee biting midges aren't out yet.

2. This is Homecoming year - lots of celebrations.

3. Scottish Stained Glass Symposium announcement

YOU are invited to join in

A CELEBRATION OF SCOTLAND’S STAINED GLASS

as part of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 Celebrations

A Day Conference on Stained Glass

New Kilpatrick Church, Bearsden

Saturday 9th May 2009

9.30a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Long way for a day so go for a decent length of time. Scotland has superb stained glass! If you're interested - and why wouldn't you be? - I have all the details.

Thanks for putting that up, Linda - Alison sent me the colour version, but I haven't yet worked out how to get that up to the board! The two entries missing from the B&W version are

Eilidh Keith. Professional stained glass artist; trained at Glasgow and Edinburgh Schools of Art; masters degree in hot glass, Ohio State University; has several windows in New Kilpatrick Church.

David Millar. MA (Hons), Dip Art et al; Associate and Senior Conservation Architect with Austin-Smith:Lord LLP, Glasgow. Obtained HLF grant support for innovative solution to one important Stephen Adams window at New KIlpatrick Church.

If you go to the New Kilpatrick photo gallery at http://www.nkchurch.org.uk you'll find the windows with descriptions, background info etc.

BTW to Linda - I see Michael gets to be Mr!! Do we doff our caps to him?

BTW to Americans - if anybody is interested in going, you might have noticed that payment is in UK cheques. Since I have bank accounts in both countries, I'd be happy take checks in dollars and then pay SSGS in British cheques.

Booked the plane tickets last night...
