I’m sorry to report that what Blogger considers “Following a blog” is not the same as automatically getting an email when the site is updated. You follow me?
If you “Follow the Blog” you will get an update to your own page at Blogger (which is why, as the user, you are required to first sign up with Blogger in order to follow the blog!) Once you sign in to your Blogger account, then the blogs you’ve signed up to follow are displayed on the Blogger Dashboard under “Blogs I’m Following”. You follow?
You will not receive an email update.

There are many systems in place now to limit the amount of useless email that automatically gets sent to peoples email accounts (ie: SPAM). This is why Blogger makes the user opt in to the system.
My advice is BOOKMARK the Auction Blog and check back often.
