In memory of the brave men and women from the Northern New Jersey Branch of the American Red Cross, who were first on the scene of the devastating event of September 11, 1991, Mezalick Design Studio, LLC had the great honor to be commissioned to design and fabricated a lasting memorial in stained glass for this the 10th anniversary .

Exotic techniques, such as  two way mirror to represent the stainless steel facade of the Twin Towers, multiple glass plating, acid etching, lead overlays and gold leafing were used to create a stunning and visually exciting stained glass window.

Very nice, Michael.
It looks like the sidelights are installed inside and the central arched part is installed outside.
Is that correct?
Did you make a special frame for the central arched part and set protection glazing exterior of the LG? Or is there no protection glazing. It's hard to tell from the photos.

Regards,
D

David,

You're correct. The two side panels are installed on the inside and the center is installed on the exterior. I wanted to keep some of the gridwork that works with the style of the building, so I made new lami with beveled glass attached and the bevels were shaded from white on the left side to clear on the right. I wanted to have the viewer "look" thru the mullions and see the twin towers. The client chose at the last moment ( yesterday) not to have the center lami installed. He loved the 3D look of the work. So, no exterior protection for the center section.

Michael
