Sister Diane Couture, a Catholic nun with the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Augustine, creates stained glass in a local studio (with a staff of five) and was commissioned to make a window that was installed in St. Francis of Assisi (Catholic Church) in New York.
The stained glass memorial window commemorates those who were lost in the World Trade center. The window was unveiled and dedicated during the remembrance ceremony on Sept. 11, 2002, and now stands as part of a National Shrine in the church in lower Manhattan.
