Yesterday I looked at a Catholic church in mid-Michigan with an entire set of very nice windows by
Tyrolese Art Glass Company, dating to between 1925-1930. It was interesting to see the amount of criss- crossing reinforcement, kind of in a large square. Apparently they had a firm, or 2, here in the US. Has anyone an opinion on whether the reinforcement was added here, or was it shipped from Austria like that?

Barbara,
Sorry to reply to this so late. About 20 years ago I worked on some Tyrolian windows, signed "Tyroler Glasmalerei, Innsbruck". Unlike the ones you mention, the windows had no traditional support or saddle bars (flat, square or round), instead they had an interesting network of steel (not brass) fins, soldered to the interior, not on the exterior as normally found in Tiffany windows. Thought you'd be interested.
