This window is clear, diamond glazing with ZINC. 6 or 7 broken pieces. Window purchased for me (he thought it was lead) to use for a Youth Builders class demonstration.

Am thinking about taking 2 wood sides off, first, then heating zinc at a few places to "release" a few sections from the whole window...any other thoughts? Thanks.

Perhaps I'm missing something but is there a photo that I'm not seeing? Or was this just a general advice about zinc repair question?

Sorry no photo as I didn't know the window section was coming, and then it was whisked away for lead paint removal so we can possibly work with it next week.

Without benefit of pictures it is hard to agree or disagree with what you have in mind, but having restored several hundred zinc came windows, I can give you a definite maybe.

Steve, the class is over and no way would I have had time to delve into the zinc situation....keeping track of 8-10 students was hard enough....but thanks anyway.
