Dalle de verre: I know that the recommendation is that no single panel be more than 12sf. But what is the maximum stacking height for 1" panels in a curtain-wall construction? 7 feet? 10 feet? 15 feet?
Talked with Bob Cain, the past president, CEO, and owner of Key Resin. He said they recommended 16sf as the maximum single panel size (though 12sf was better.) And he said panels should not be stacked more than 15' high. There would be special considerations, of course, if there was a lot of wind load--as there would be for any heavy plate glass installation.
The local/state building code needs to be asked about their requirements, as some years ago this topic was discussed and in many hurricaine prone areas, exterior glazing was required on Dalle De Verre because it didn't pass their wind load tests.
Right It takes at least 14 days in a heated room to cure.
but that does not mean much in the WINTER. I watched them worp all over the place one winter back in the 70s.
Best to play it save. Don't stach um high and keep um warm and PRAY. CZ
